Ishtar Records announces the release of Solos for Air:Creative Meditation Musings, an album of keyboard improvisations by sonic performance artist Elise Kermani.

Although Kermani is mostly known for her vocal-based performance work, this album is a departure back to her original "roots" of solo keyboarding with multi-tracked electronic improvisations.

There are no vocal tracks on this album!!

The tracks include: Persian Dreams, Dirge, Mudwalking, Solo for Air, Residents, Telepathy, Rising, Ancients, Channels, Nymphs at Midnight, Bugs in the Machine and Digital Dragons. The music, experimental explorations of ambient sonic space, employs long drones with shifting thick chordal and rhythmic structures. Some tracks are disquieting and even disturbing, while others pulsate with a retro-harmonic ecstasy.

Much of the music was composed for the Indianapolis dance company, Susurrus, Inc. for their live performances of "Sacred Spaces 2", in November, 1998. The artwork for Solos for Air album utilizes still videos of the dancers captured from these performances.
